Women's Lacrosse Drops to Manhattan

 RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Niagara women's lacrosse team (2-10, 0-5) dropped a 20-8 decision to Manhattan college on Friday night.

Niagara was on the board first by a goal from Courtney Formato (Lancaster, N.Y.). Manhattan soon toon the lead scoring 15 goals in the first half. For the Purple Eagles, Formattion picked up an additional goal along with a goal scored by Erralyn Thomas (Ducan, B.C.) to give niagara three goals for the first half.

Niagara scored five goals in the second half, but still couldn't match Manhattan's offense, scoring twenty goals overall. Scoring in the second half was Rianne Farriguia (Elbridge, N.Y.) Alison Valerio (Geneva, N.Y.), Leigh Downing (Auburn, N.Y.), Formato and Thomas.

Downing picked up three assists on the game, for a career-high four point on the contest.

In net for the Purple Eagles was Whitney Gill (Canadaigua, N.Y.) who made 9 saves.

Niagara hits the field again Sunday Apr. 20 when they travel to Iona College for a noon showdown.
