NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – The Niagara University lacrosse team (1-6, 0-2) returns to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play when it hosts cross-town rival Canisius College (3-8, 0-2) in the Battle of the Bridge Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Niagara Field.
The Purple Eagles look to end a pair of streaks vs. the Golden Griffins. Niagara is winless in conference action and with a 14-10 loss at Binghamton on April 4, it has lost its last four games.
Junior Emma-Lee Harrison (Lakefield, Ont.) continues to lead the team in goals (10) and points (13) despite missing the Purple Eagles’ last outing. 
Senior Lindsay Hamann (Camillus, N.Y.) is tied for the team lead in points and is second in goals (9) and assists (4). With a goal and two assists for three points vs. Binghamton, Hamann now ranks seventh in goals (72), ninth in assists (18) and 10th in points (90) in Niagara’s career records.
Freshman Alison Valerio (Geneva, N.Y.) tops the team in assists (8) and is second in points (11).
Senior Kristen Engel (Plainview, N.Y.) has started all seven games for the Purple Eagles, and has a 14.43 goals-against average, .416 save percentage and 1-6 record.
Just like Niagara, Canisius will be looking to end a four-game losing streak and win its first league game of the season.
The Golden Griffins’ are lead offensively by Ashley Gray with 23 goals, eight assists and 31 points. 
Lauren Walsh has 16 goals, 10 assists and 26 points while Whitney Card and Marissa Brown have 16 and 15 points, respectively.
In net, Rasheeda Brenton has started all 11 games for Canisius, and has a 13.51 goals-against average, .414 save percentage and 3-8 record.
Niagara leads the all-time series, 10-2, but Canisius’ wins have come the last two seasons, including a 16-10 win last year.
