KINGSTON, N.Y. – Junior Emma-Lee Harrison (Lakefield, Ont.) scored a team-high four goals, but it wasn’t enough as the Niagara University lacrosse team (1-8, 1-4) lost 19-6 to Marist College (7-4, 3-1) Friday afternoon at Dietz Stadium.
Harrison kept the Purple Eagles in the game early by scoring two goals in the first 12 minutes. Her first goal at the 25:16 mark tied the game at 1-1. At the 18:56 mark, Harrison again tied the game with an unassisted tally to make it 2-2.
Marist scored the next nine goals to take an 11-2 lead into halftime.
Harrison’s third goal of the game came at the 26:28 mark of the second half and her fourth at the 10:30 mark.
Sophomore Vanessa Schultz (Clarence, N.Y./Clarence) had the Purple Eagles other two goals at the 9:11 and 3:40 marks.
In net, senior Kristin Engel (Plainview, N.Y.) made 12 saves for Niagara.
The Purple Eagles return to action Sunday when they travel to Fairfield, Conn., to take on the Stags at 3:30 p.m.
