NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – Sophomore Vanessa Schultz (Clarence, N.Y./Clarence) scored all three Purple Eagle goals as the Niagara University lacrosse team (1-7, 0-3) lost 17-3 to Canisius College Tuesday afternoon at Niagara Field.

Schultz’s first goal came at the 20:59 mark of the first half and the other two tallies were at the 21:41 and 16:35 marks of the second period.

The Golden Griffins were led by Lauren Walsh and Whitney Card who each had three goals and an assist for four points.

In net, Niagara senior Kristen Engel (Plainview, N.Y.) made six saves, and Canisius’ Rasheeda Brenton made seven.

Niagara returns to action Friday when it travels to Poughkeepsie, N.Y., to take on Marist College at 3 p.m.
