SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Niagara University lacrosse team (1-5, 0-2) was limited to just 10 shots on net as it lost 16-2 to Le Moyne College (7-4, 2-0) Sunday afternoon in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action.
Senior Lindsay Hamann (Camillus, N.Y.) and freshman Courtney Formato (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster) had the Purple Eagles goals and junior Emma-Lee Harrison (Lakefield, Ont.) recorded an assist on Formato’s tally.
Le Moyne took the 1-0 lead when Emily Donnells scored at 26:27. Hamann’s goal at 24:45 tied the game, but the Dolphins then scored 15 consecutive goals. Formato’s tally came with 46 seconds left in the game.
Senior Kristen Engel (Plainview, N.Y.) made 11 saves in net.
Niagara returns to action April 4 when it plays at Binghamton at noon.
