Battle of the Bridge for the Canal Cup Tuesday

NIAGARA UN., N.Y. -- Protecting a four-game winning streak, the Niagara University men’s basketball team (15-11, 10-5) concludes a three-game road swing when it takes on cross-town rival Canisius College (11-14, 6-9) Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the annual Battle for the Bridge game at the Koessler Center.

The game will be broadcast live on MSG with Doug Sherman and former Niagara head coach Jack Armstrong with the call. It will also be live on Niagara University’s official sports website, www.PurpleEagles.com, and WJJL (1440 AM).

The Purple Eagles won their fourth consecutive game with a 76-74 victory over Manhattan Feb. 11.

The Golden Griffins lost their fourth consecutive game, losing at Rider, 98-88, Feb. 11.

Tuesday’s game is the 163rd meeting between the two teams, and Niagara leads the all-time series, 90-72.
