NIAGARA UN., N.Y. -- Looking for its first series sweep of the season, the Niagara University men’s basketball team (9-10, 4-4) hosts Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opponent Iona College (0-17, 0-7) Saturday at 2 p.m. in the legendary Taps Gallagher Center.

The game will be broadcast live on Niagara University’s official sports website, www.PurpleEagles.com, and on WJJL (1440 AM).

The Purple Eagles look to rebound from heart-breaking 91-86 overtime loss to league-leading Marist College Friday night.

The Gaels enter the game as the lone winless team in the NCAA. They lost their second consecutive overtime game, falling at Canisius, 72-65, Friday.

Saturday’s game is the 59th meeting between the two teams, and Iona leads the all-time series, 30-28.
