Purple Eagles Meet Golden Griffins in Cross-Town Rivalry Game Wednesday

NIAGARA UN., N.Y. -- "The Magnificent Seven" of the Niagara University men’s basketball team (8-13, 5-8) return to the friendly confines of the legendary Taps Gallagher Center Wednesday when it begins its final regular-season home stand vs. cross-town rival Canisius College (5-16, 4-9) at 7 p.m.

The Purple Eagles, who are in a three-way tie for sixth place in the league with Siena and Loyola, are coming off a 68-64 loss at Fairfield on Feb. 5.

Canisius enters the game with a two-game losing streak after dropping a 73-69 game at Rider Feb. 5.

Wednesday’s game will be broadcast tape delay on Adelphia Cable Channel 13. The rebroadcast of the contest will be Thursday at 9 p.m. and Saturday at 7 p.m. The game can also be heard live on WJJL (1440 AM) and on Niagara University’s official sports website, www.PurpleEagles.com.
