NIAGARA UN., N.Y. -- The Niagara University men’s basketball team (6-12, 3-7) looks to earn a split of its weekend Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference games when it hosts Rider University (7-11, 3-7) today at 1 p.m. in the legendary Taps Gallagher Center.
The Purple Eagles, who are tied with Rider and Canisius for eighth place in the league, need to snap a three-game losing streak after suffering a heart-breaking 71-69 overtime loss to league-leading Iona Friday night.
Rider enters the game as one of the hottest teams in the MAAC. The Broncs won their second consecutive game, beating Canisius, 81-62, Friday night. Rider has on three of its last four games.
Today’s game will be rebroadcast on Lockport Community Television Channel 20 tonight at 7 p.m. and Monday at 1 a.m. Today’s game can also be heard live on WJJL (1440 AM) and on Niagara University’s official sports website, www.PurpleEagles.com.
