NIAGARA UN., N.Y. -- The Niagara University men’s basketball team (6-11, 3-6) has a tough competitor on the schedule Friday when the league-leading Iona Gaels (14-3, 8-1) play in the legendary Taps Gallagher at 7 p.m. and on ESPNU.
Doug Sherman and former Purple Eagle head coach Jack Armstrong have the call for ESPNU.
The Purple Eagles are hoping a return to the Gallagher Center will help end their two-game slide. The dropped a 79-59 game at Saint Peter’s on Jan. 22.
Iona enters the game with an impressive six-game winning streak and atop the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference standings. The Gaels picked off Siena in Loudonville, 85-78, on Tuesday.
In addition to live action on ESPNU, Friday’s game can be heard live on WJJL (1440 AM) and on Niagara University’s official sports website, www.PurpleEagles.com.
