Women’s Swimming & Diving Team Travels to Siena

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – The Niagara University women’s swimming and diving team meets Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference rival Siena College Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Siena Swim Center.

Niagara enters the meet with a 4-6 record while Siena is 3-7. The Purple Eagles are coming off a 120-82 loss at the University at Buffalo on Wednesday.

In the UB meet, freshman Justine Rawding (White Salmon, Wash.) finished third in 2:22.63 setting a season-best in the 200 IM. Senior Emily Zimdahl (Grand Island, N.Y.) won the one- and three-meter diving events with scores of 175.58 and 183.15, respectively.

Junior Lindsay Bechtold (Lockport, N.Y.) placed first in the 200 backstroke, freshman Allison Carr (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) took first in the 200 breaststroke, and Hope Wiles (Baltimore, Md.) first in the 500 free.

In the Saints’ last meet, they placed first in five of the 13 events in their loss to the Marist Red Foxes on Jan. 14.

Last year, Niagara topped the Saints 124-112 in the Oxy Aquatic Center.
