NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. - Playing at the Binghamton Alumni Stadium, the Niagara University women’s lacrosse team (4-1) defeated the Bearcats of Binghamton University (2-6), 11-7. Strong defense by junior Miko Daluisio (Lancaster, N.Y.) and freshman goaltender Whitney Gill (Canandaigua, N.Y.) helped lead the team to victory.
“Our attack was off and on today,” head coach Anne Windover said. “Fortunately our defense was strong and we were able to pull out the win. We’ll take what we can from this game and focus now on the upcoming weekend.”
Niagara begins its Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference schedule this weekend, hosting Manhattan and Iona Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Five Purple Eagles each tallied two goals in the balanced Niagara attack, including Daluisio, who registered her first career goals.
