NIAGARA UN., N.Y. -- Looking for a split on the road, the Niagara University men’s basketball team (15-7, 10-4) travels to Bridgeport, Conn., to meet Fairfield University (12-10, 9-4) in a 3 p.m. game Saturday at Harbor Yard.
The Purple Eagles dropped the first game of their two-game road swing at Iona on Thursday. Niagara had five players in double figures but it wasn’t enough as they lost 95-80.
In the race for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular-season title, Niagara remained in first place despite its loss Thursday. Rider lost at Manhanttan to remain one half game out of the top spot.
Fairfield swept the Marist series with a 61-60 win in Poughkeepsie on Thursday.
