Men's Basketball Team Looks to Gain Ground on Saint Peter's Saturday

NIAGARA UN., N.Y. -- The Niagara University men’s basketball team (14-7, 8-4) will have an opportunity to gain ground on Saint Peter’s (14-8, 10-3) when the teams tip at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Yanitelli Center on the Jersey City, N.J., campus.

The Purple Eagles enter the contest on a losing note. They had their modest two-game winning streak snapped with a 69-59 loss to Fairfield Feb. 7.

Saint Peter’s also will be looking for a win after it lost to Manhattan for the second time this season, 77-73, in the Yanitelli Center Feb. 7.

Niagara leads the all-time series with Saint Peter’s, 32-22, and the Purple Eagles have an eight-game winning streak in the series.

The game will not be televised but and it can be heard live on WJJL (1440 AM) or on Niagara University’s official website at www.PurpleEagles.com.
