Niagara Women's Lacrosse Falls to Fairfield

Erie, PA (April 5, 2003) -The Niagara women's lacrosse team lost to Fairfield 15-10. Niagara falls to 5-3 (1-1 MAAC). The game was played at Mercyhust College due to inclement weather in Western New York.

Megan McNerney (Little York, NY/Homer) and Sandra Gallegos (Clarkston, MI/Clarence) each had four points. McNerney netted three goals and one assist while Gallegos had two goals and two assists.

Rachel Jones (Tonawanda, NY/Sweet Home) and Ashley Grosso (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W.Baker) each scored tow goals for the Purple Eagles.

Julie Simme (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) had the other Niagara goal.

Goaltender Michelle Nucci (Plainview, NY/Bethpage) had a busy day stopping 15 Fairfiled shots.

Niagara will play Manhattan at East Rochester High School on April 6. Face-off is set for 2:00 p.m. The game was originally scheduled to be played at Niagara but was moved because of weather.
