Niagara Falls to St. Bonaventure in Women's Lacrosse

Niagara University, NY (April 15, 2003) - Niagara lost to St. Bonaventure in women's lacrosse 14-11. Niagara falls to 8-4 (4-1 MAAC) on the season while St. Bonaventure remains undefeated at 9-0.

Sandra Gallegos (Clarkston, MI/Clarence) and Ashley Grosso (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) each had three goals and one assist for the Purple Eagles.

Megan McNerney (Little York, NY/Homer) was the only other Niagara player with multiple points netting one goal and adding one assist.

Michelle Nucci (Plainview, NY/Bethpage) played the entire game in net for Niagara making 19 saves on 33 shots.

Laura Spaulding and Kelly Chevez each had three goals for the Bonnies. Tracy Domm, Courtney Gibbons and Emily Lilyea each scored two goals.

Kristen Beahm earned the win between the pipes for St. Bonaventure. She made five saves on 16 shots.

Niagara went into halftime with a 9-7 lead. St. Bonaventure tied the game at 11 with 13-minutes remaining in the game. Spaulding scored the winning goal just 2:19 later. St. Bonaventure killed the clock by holding on to the ball for most of the last 10-minutes.

Niagara will travel to Colgate on Thursday to take on St. Mary's of California. Face-off is set for 12:00 p.m.
