Syracuse, N.Y. - Two goals from Caitlyn Gratton gave women's soccer a 2-0 victory Thursday afternoon at Ted Grant Field in Syracuse, N.Y.
Niagara improved to 1-1-0, while Le Moyne fell to 0-3-0.
Both teams were held scoreless after the first half despite the Purple Eagles four shots on goal as the Dolphins recorded two of their own as both keepers kept the game deadlocked at zero.
The Purple and White kicked open the game courtesy of Caitlyn Gratton in the 80th minute of action as Gratton beat the Dolphins keeper to the lower left corner of the goal from a
Naiya Johnston assist to put Niagara up 1-0.
One minute later in the 81st minute of play the Ancaster, Ontario native Gratton recorded her second goal of the contest as she put one past the keeper into the lower right corner of the goal as Johnston recorded her second assist of the game to cap the game off at 2-0.
Julia Poissant recorded three saves in a winning effort to give the Purple Eagles their first win of the season.
