Volleyball Swept By Buffalo

Niagara University, NY - Niagara volleyball closed out their non-conference portion of the schedule falling to Buffalo in three sets at the Buffalo Classic in Buffalo, NY.

Set One

Buffalo scored the first point of the game but Janiah Robinson quickly recorded a kill to knot the game at one.

Both teams traded points with Niagara tying the game multiple times, but were never able to gain the lead. 

The Bulls went on a five point run which saw Niagara call two timeouts to close out the first set 25-18.

Robinson and Sydney Wilkes both put up three kills to lead the Purple and White, while Kylie Blessing tallied five assists.

Set Two

The Purple Eagles got out to a 3-1 lead to start set two with two kills from Kinga Wronska.

Niagara led for most of the set with kills from a multitude of players including Katie Jacobs with two, but the Bulls battled back to take a 20-18 lead.

Wilkes and Payton Lee gave Niagara the lead back with a kill a piece, but UB was able to close out the set 25-23.

Lee, Robinson and Wilkes all recorded three kills in the second set with Blessing put up eight assists.

Set Three

Buffalo started off the third set with a 6-2 lead, but kills from Wronska and Wilkes along with a block from Wronska and Taylor Jenkins made it a 8-7 game.

The Purple Eagles took a 16-14 lead with kills from Wronska and Wilkes. The Bulls regained the lead, but Niagara would not go away as Wilkes, Robinson and Liana Tolliver all recorded kills to tie the set at 21.

Buffalo was able to complete the sweep scoring the final four points of the game to make it 25-21.

Wronska led the Purple Eagles with five kills in the final set, while Noel Perkins and Blessing both recorded four assists a piece.

Game Notes

Niagara is now 7-39 all-time against Buffalo

Wilkes led the Purple and White with nine kills in the contest.
