Box Score Niagara University, N.Y. — Niagara (3-17, 1-4 MAAC) dropped a non-conference midweek game against Le Moyne at the Le Moyne Softball Complex, 9-0 (5).
How it Happened
Le Moyne got off to a quick start, plating five runs in the bottom of the first inning, highlighted by a 2-RBI double off the bat of Kassap. The Dolphins put the game out of reach in the second frame adding two more runs, chasing Niagara starter Jenna Martin.
Both of the Purple Eagles' hits came in the second inning as Natasha Limbani and Selah Moyer both singled to make their way on base.
Le Moyne tacked on two more insurance runs in the bottom of the third with a fielder's choice and a sacrifice fly for the final runs of the contest.
Martin started in the circle for the Purple Eagles, throwing 1.1 innings. Abbey Steen came in for relief to throw 1.2 innings allowing two runs on one hit. Aubrey Tamayo threw the final inning of the game only allowing one hit.
