Niagara Wins Extra Inning Affair Over Stony Brook

STONY BROOK, N.Y. — McKay's RBI double in the 10th inning lifted Niagara to a 10-9 victory over Stony Brook in a back-and-forth baseball contest at Joe Nathan Field on Saturday.
 
How it Happened
McKay, who finished 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI and three walks, drove in Milk with the game-winning hit as Niagara (2-9) secured just its second win of the season.
 
Third baseman Mauro led the Purple Eagles with a stellar 5-for-6 performance, including two doubles and two RBIs. Shortstop Brooks added two hits and three RBIs, while first baseman Cameron contributed a triple and two RBI.
 
Niagara showed resilience after falling behind 8-5 in the sixth inning. The Purple Eagles scored one run in the seventh and tied the game with three runs in the eighth, featuring Cameron's two-run triple and Brooks' RBI single.
 
Fink earned his first save of the season by retiring all three batters he faced in the 10th inning. Starter Wheaton (1-3) picked up the win despite allowing three runs in 3⅓ innings of work.
 
For Stony Brook (5-7), second baseman Pilla led the offense, going 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs. Catcher Szepek added a double and three RBIs, while left fielder Jackson reached base five times and scored twice.
 
The four-hour, three-minute contest featured multiple lead changes and was tied 9-9 heading into the decisive 10th inning. Pedersen (0-1) took the loss for the Seawolves.
