EVANSTON, Ill. - Despite five different goal scorers, Niagara women's lacrosse fell to No. 3 Northwestern 22-5 on Tuesday afternoon at Ryan Fieldhouse.

How it Happened
The Purple Eagles (1-2) struck first when
Avery Olschefskie found the back of the net off an assist from
Olivia Ng at 13:33 in the first quarter. However, Northwestern (3-1) responded with a decisive 10-goal run to take control of the game.

Giordan Peck and Ng also scored for Niagara. Ng led the Purple Eagles' offense with three points on one goal and two assists.

Haley Terry made 13 saves while facing a barrage of 50 shots from the Wildcats. Northwestern dominated possession throughout, winning 22 draw controls to Niagara's seven and collecting 26 ground balls to the Purple Eagles' 10.

The Purple Eagles managed to convert 2-of-3 free position shots but were undone by 21 turnovers.

Northwestern's Madison Taylor led all scorers with six goals.
