Second Half Goal from Schmidt Prevails Niagara Past Manhattan

Niagara University, N.Y.Izzy Schmidt scored the game deciding goal late in the second half to prevail Niagara past Manhattan 3-2 at Niagara Field in Niagara University, N.Y.
 
The Purple Eagles improve to 5-4-1, 2-3-1 MAAC while the Jaspers drop to 3-4-4, 2-3 MAAC.
 
Caitlyn Gratton kicked off the scoring in the 14th minute mark off a penalty kick that Mahelie Barbeau drew. Gratton put the ball with her left foot into the left side of the cage to put the Purple Eagles up 1-0.
 
Baillie Colling put the Purple Eagles up by two in the 31st minute. Off the free kick Caitlyn Grady put the ball near the left post where she found Baillie Colling who chipped the ball over the Jaspers defenders and found Colling who put it away with her head to put the Purple and White up by two.
 
Manhattan cut the Purple Eagles lead into half in the 42nd minute cutting the Purple Eagles lead to 2-1 heading into halftime. The Jaspers tied the game in the 75th minute.
 
In the 78th minute of action Izzy Schmidt scored the eventual game deciding goal. Barbeau danced around her defender and found Schmidt at the left post who jumped up and put the ball into the cage with her left foot to put Niagara 3-1.
