Niagara's Balanced Attack Sinks Alaska Anchorage

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. - Noah Hackett scored twice and Niagara showcased its offensive depth with five different goal scorers in a 6-2 victory over Alaska Anchorage on Friday night at Dwyer Arena.
 
How it Happened
Jay Ahearn, Ross Roloson, Lars Rodne, and Trevor Hoskin also scored for the Purple Eagles (11-8-3), who had 13 different players record at least one point. Shane Ott led the playmaking with two assists.
 
Ahearn opened the scoring just 1:18 into the game before Alaska Anchorage's Maximilion Helgeson tied it at 4:19 of the first period. After Roloson restored Niagara's lead, Matt Johnson pulled the Seawolves (4-17-3) even again early in the second period.
 
The Purple Eagles then took control with three consecutive goals in the second period. Hackett scored on the power play at 1:46, followed by Rodne's power-play goal at 9:44 and Hoskin's tally at 11:55. Hackett added his second goal of the night with 18 seconds remaining in the third period.
 
Pierce Charleson made 26 saves for Niagara, which out-shot Alaska Anchorage 33-30. Greg Orosz and Bryant Marks combined for 27 saves for the Seawolves.
