NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. — Niagara shot a blistering 57.4% from the field and placed seven players in double figures as the Purple Eagles routed Houghton 100-65 in their home opener Monday night.
How it Happened
Jahari Williamson scored a game-high with 16 points apiece, connecting on 4-of-7 from 3-point range.
Olumide Adelodun added 15 points on efficient 5-of-9 shooting, including three 3-pointers.
Justin Page came off the bench to score 12 points, while
Josiah Davis,
Justice Smith, and
Jhaylon Martinez each contributed 11 points and
Jaeden Marshall finished with 10. Martinez also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
The Purple Eagles took control early, building a 55-34 halftime lead behind 60 percent shooting in the opening period. Niagara's sharp shooting extended beyond the arc, where they knocked down 12-of-27 attempts (44.4%) for the game, including eight in the first half.

• The victory marked Niagara's first 100-point performance in a season opener under head coach
Greg Paulus.
• Niagara last had five or more Purple Eagles record 10 or more points on Feb. 18, 2023 at Quinnipiac.
• The Purple and White last scored 100 points in game on Dec. 10, 2023 against Buff State.
• Niagara shot 57.4 percent from the field, its first game over 55 percent from the field since playing at Manhattan on Jan. 5, 2024.
