AIC Defeats Niagara, 5-2

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Despite a third-period comeback attempt, the Niagara Purple Eagles fell 5-2 to American International College on Sunday afternoon at the MassMutual Center, snapping their four-game unbeaten streak.

How it Happened
Trailing 3-0 entering the final frame, Niagara (7-5-3, 6-3-2) showed signs of life with two quick goals. Trevor Hoskin netted his fifth of the season at 3:10, assisted by Grayson Dietrich and Ross Roloson. Less than a minute later, Jonathan Ziskie cut the deficit to one with his first of the season.

However, AIC (4-9-1, 3-5-0) responded with two more goals to put the game out of reach. Brett Bamber restored the Yellow Jackets' two-goal lead at 9:25, and Timofei Khokhlachev added a power-play tally at 13:17 to seal the victory.

Pierce Charleson made 30 saves for Niagara in the loss. The Purple Eagles outshot AIC 10-8 in the third period but couldn't overcome the early deficit.

Tyler Wallace led Niagara's offense with four shots on goal, while Jay Ahearn and Ross Roloson each recorded three shots. The Purple Eagles won 37 of 61 faceoffs but went 0-for-5 on the power play.
