NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. — Andrew Monteserin scored in the 79th minute to lift Quinnipiac to a 1-0 victory over Niagara in men's soccer action Saturday at Niagara Field.
How it Happened
The Purple Eagles (2-11-2, 0-6-1) created several scoring opportunities, led by
Gianluca Del Priore's three shots on goal, but were unable to find the back of the net against Quinnipiac goalkeeper Karl Netzell, who finished with five saves.

Jamie Barry made seven saves in the losing effort, as Quinnipiac (6-8-1, 3-4-0) outshot the Purple Eagles 17-10 and held a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks.
The loss extends Niagara's winless streak in conference play, as they continue to search for their first conference victory of the season.
Felix Kogler and Del Priore led Niagara's attack with three shots each, while
Jeremy Talsma added two shots in front of a home crowd of 231.

• The Purple Eagles move to 3-9-2 all-time against Quinnipiac, including three consecutive losses.
• Barry now has 101 saves on the season and is 10-shy of 10
th most by a Purple Eagle in a single season. It is also the most saves by a Purple Eagle since Brett Petricek recorded 97 in 2012.
• Niagara has been shutout in seven games this season.
