Quinnipiac Edges Niagara 1-0

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. — Andrew Monteserin scored in the 79th minute to lift Quinnipiac to a 1-0 victory over Niagara in men's soccer action Saturday at Niagara Field.

How it Happened
The Purple Eagles (2-11-2, 0-6-1) created several scoring opportunities, led by Gianluca Del Priore's three shots on goal, but were unable to find the back of the net against Quinnipiac goalkeeper Karl Netzell, who finished with five saves.

Niagara goalkeeper Jamie Barry made seven saves in the losing effort, as Quinnipiac (6-8-1, 3-4-0) outshot the Purple Eagles 17-10 and held a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks.

The loss extends Niagara's winless streak in conference play, as they continue to search for their first conference victory of the season.

Felix Kogler and Del Priore led Niagara's attack with three shots each, while Jeremy Talsma added two shots in front of a home crowd of 231.
