NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. - In a tightly contested match, Niagara University and Iona College battled to a scoreless draw in women's soccer action Wednesday afternoon at Niagara Field.

Despite out-shooting Iona 15-10, the Purple Eagles (5-4-2, 1-3-2 MAAC) were unable to find the back of the net against a stubborn Gaels (3-7-3, 1-4-1 MAAC) defense.

Emma Bough led all players with six shots, including four on target, but was repeatedly denied by Iona goalkeeper Kayla Kalbaugh, who finished with seven saves.

The match saw its share of physical play, with three yellow cards and one red card issued.

Maddie Crosbie kept a clean sheet for Niagara, making four saves to preserve the draw.
