Niagara Falls Short at Marist, 4-1

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Niagara men's soccer dropped its conference to Marist match Wednesday afternoon, falling 4-1 to Marist at Tenney Stadium.

How it Happened
The Purple Eagles (2-10-2, 0-5-1) struggled to generate offense throughout the match, managing just seven shots compared to Marist's 32. The Red Foxes took control early with first-half goals from Nicholas Sanchez and Chris Verheul.

Niagara's lone bright spot came in the 60th minute when Robert Woods found the back of the net, for the first goal of his career, off an assist from Felix Kogler, briefly cutting the deficit to 3-1.

However, Marist's Arion Ulaj sealed the victory with a goal in the 84th minute.

The Purple Eagles' defense faced constant pressure, with goalkeeper Jamie Barry making eight saves while picking up a yellow card. Kevin Payne also received a yellow card for Niagara in the 71st minute.
