NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. - The Niagara Purple Eagles fell in straight sets to Quinnipiac (25-11, 25-21, 25-15) in MAAC volleyball action Sunday afternoon at the Gallagher Center.

Sydney Wilkes led Niagara (11-11, 7-4 MAAC) with 6.5 points despite playing in only two sets, while
Liana Tolliver and
Kinga Wronska each added 5.5 points. The Purple Eagles struggled offensively throughout the match, hitting just .129 as a team compared to Quinnipiac's .262.

After a difficult first set where they hit just .059, the Purple Eagles showed resilience in the second set, keeping pace with the Bobcats and forcing four tie scores before ultimately falling 25-21.

Niagara's hitting improved significantly in the final set to .286, but it wasn't enough to overcome Quinnipiac's offensive firepower.

Bella Peroni led the defensive effort with 12 digs for the Purple Eagles, who have now lost their first match after winning their previous two conference games.
