Softabll Announces 2024 Newcomers

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – Niagara softball head coach Larry Puzan has announced five newcomers to his 2024 roster, including a transfer and four freshmen.  

Samantha Miller | Fifth-Year | 5-5 | OF | R/R | Penetanguishene, Ontario | St. Theresa Catholic | Saint Peter's

Quick Profile: Miller was a four-year member of the Saint Peter's softball program, where she appeared in 84 games, including a career-high 40 games in 2022. In the 2022 season, Miller batted .286 with 22 hits, 13 RBI, seven doubles, and 10 runs scored. Last season, Miller appeared in 22 games, batting .222 with six hits in 27 at-bats. 

In the Classroom: Three-time MAAC All-Academic selection 

Off the Field: Parents are Dan and Tracey…has a brother named Danny.

Why Niagara? I chose Niagara to take my fifth year because of the fantastic team culture. They make the team feel like family and a second home.
 

Selah Moyer | Freshman | 5-7 | 1B/OF | L/L | Tiffin, Ohio | Tiffin Calvert High School

Quick Profile: Moyer played four seasons of varsity softball at Tiffin Calvert High School, earning multiple all-conference, all-division, and school awards. As a senior, Moyer was First Team All-Conference, First Team All-Division, First Team All-State, and Conference Player of the Year after ranking tied for fourth in the state of Ohio with 19 home runs. Her 38 career home runs rank ninth all-time in the state. Moyer owns Tiffin Calvert program records for most home runs in a game (three), home runs in a season (19), home runs in a career (38), batting average (.668), consecutive games with a hit, consecutive games with a home run, walks, and grand slams. 

In the Classroom: Moyer was a three-time scholar-athlete and National Honor Society member. She plans to pursue a degree in social work. 

Off the Field: Parents are Mindy and Kyle…has two siblings, Morgan Peiffer and Parker…Her father was drafted by the Cleveland Guardians in the 1999 MLB Draft and played two seasons of minor league baseball…her mom ran track at Oral Roberts…she enjoys playing the piano and hanging out with friends.

Why Niagara? Small-town community feel small class sizes, and I love the atmosphere.
 

Natasha Limbani | Freshman | 5-5 | INF/OF | R/R | Mississauga, Ontario | Port Credit Secondary

Limbani hails from Mississauga, Ontario, where she attended Port Credit Secondary and played club softball for the Aurora Diggers-Martin. In her final season with Aurora, she played in 53 games, batted .416 with an OPS of 1.208 and slugging percentage of .732. She finished the season with 62 hits. 

In the Classroom: Limbani was an Ontario Graduate Scholar. 

Off the Field: Parents are Margaret Pepper (mother), Vijay Limbani (father), and Jayostna Chauhan (stepmother)…has four siblings, Shivani, Jared, Devon, and Tanya…she enjoys skating, baking, reading, and other outdoor activities. 

Why Niagara? I chose Niagara because of the close community, the small campus and class sizes, and to be close to home while still playing Division I softball.
 

Kira Kilonsky | Freshman | 5-7 | Util. | Buffalo, NY | Tapestry Charter

Quick Profile: Kilonsky played five seasons of softball at Tapestry Charter and batted .429 during her senior campaign. She was named MVP during her 14U seasons and 16U season and named to the All-Star team every year for her park league.

In the Classroom: High Honor Roll student every quarter during high school 

Off the Field: Her parents are Kelly and Justin…has three sisters, Alyssa, Julia, and Izzy…Alyssa and Julia both played softball at Erie County Community College…related to 2017 Niagara graduates Ben and Ana Panasiewicz.  

Why Niagara? The campus is beautiful; it's not too small of a school but also not huge, and the community (staff and students) seems to care about its students.
 

Brianna Delaney | Freshman | 5-7 | 3B/P | Lockport, NY | Lockport

Quick Profile: In five seasons of varsity softball at Lockport, Delaney hit .557 with 16 home runs, 76 RBI, and 42 stolen bases. She was a four-time All-State selection and an All-WNY selection in 2022. 

In the Classroom: Scholar Athlete and Honor Roll Student 

Off the Field: Parents are Dawn and John…has a brother named Dylan…enjoys working out.  

Why Niagara? I love the campus and the environment. It is also close to home and allowed me to continue playing softball.

Niagara will return 17 from last season's roster, including All-MAAC selections Samantha Hare and Lindsay Mayo
