Moon Township, Pa.—The Niagara hockey team opened its final series of the first semester on Thursday night as they faced Robert Morris on the road. Despite outshooting Robert Morris, Niagara fell 4-1.
First Period
The first period was filled with shot attempts as Niagara had 24 shot attempts with eight being on goal. Robert Morris had just 15 shot attempts with eight being on goal.
The Colonials struck first as they scored at 6:15 mark of the first period.
Faceoffs were even at eight in the first period, Jaedon Leslie went 4-0 in the circle while Glebs Prohorenkovs and Tyler Wallace each won two faceoffs.
Niagara limited Robert Morris to just one shot on their lone power play in the period.
Second Period
Shots were 9-5 in favor of Robert Morris in the second period.
Robert Morris extended the lead to 2-0 just 2:56 into the second period. They then took the three goal lead at the 11:47 mark of the second period.
Niagara went 9-8 in the faceoff circle in the second period with Prohorenkovs winning four faceoffs in the period.
Third Period
Niagara dominated the third period as they outshot the Colonials 26-3.
The Purple Eagles scored their lone goal of the game at the 4:49 mark while on the power play. The puck was fed to Lane Brockhoff at the left point and he fired it to the right point to Alex Murray. Murray saw Luke Mylymok curling at the left circle and fired a pass to Mylymok. Mylymok fired home his fifth goal of the season. Murray picked up his team leading 10th assist while Brockhoff notched his first point of the season.
Niagara had five shots on their three power plays in the third period but could not convert.
Robert Morris scored an empty net goal at the 18:56 mark to close out the game.
Niagara Notes
· Niagara's 26 shots in the third period is the second most shots a team has had in the AHA in a period this season.
· The Purple Eagles outshot Robert Morris 39-20. It is the second most shots Niagara has had in a game this season.
· Jarrett Fiske made 16 saves in his ninth start of the season.
· Niagara won 30 of 58 faceoffs with Prohorenkovs and Leslie each winning more than 50% of their faceoffs. Leslie went 9-5 while Prohorenkovs went 11-8.
· The Purple Eagles allowed just two shots on two Robert Morris power plays which included a five-minute major.
· Niagara blocked nine shots with Prohorenkovs blocking a team high two shots.
· Despite the loss Niagara still leads the season series 2-1 and the all-time series 37-30-10.

The teams will now travel to Niagara for a 7 PM puck drop on Saturday night at Dwyer Arena. Pregame, Niagara will honor is 2004 CHA Championship team. Niagara will also host a teddy bear toss in conjunction with Make-A-Wish and Oishei Children's Hospital. Fans are encouraged to bring a teddy bear and throw it on the ice following the first Niagara goal.
