NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – Canisius completed the weekend sweep of Niagara with a three-set win over the Purple Eagles Sunday afternoon at the Koessler Athletic Center. The loss brings Niagara's record to 3-11 overall and 1-3 in MAAC play, while Canisius improves to 5-8 overall and 3-1 in conference action.
Match Recap
First Set
• Niagara took the first two points of the set, before Canisius got two of its own to tie it at 2-2.
• After NU took a 3-2 lead, the Golden Griffins went on a 4-0 run to take a 6-3 lead.
• With the score 15-11 in favor of Canisius, the Purple and White would rally for four-straight to tie the set at 15-15.
• Canisius would go up by three later in the set, 21-18, before Niagara took the next two points to bring the score to 21-20.
• A few points later, Niagara would tie the game at 22-22.
• Canisius would take the final three point of the set to earn a 25-22 set victory.
Second Set
• The second set was neck and neck through the first nine points, with Niagara holding the one-point lead, 5-4.
• From there Canisius would go on a 21-3 run to close the set and go up 2-0 over Niagara.
Third Set
• Niagara took the first point of the set with a block.
• The set would go back and forth through the first 10 points, with the score being tied 5-5.
• Canisius would take three-straight points to take an 8-5 lead.
• Niagara would pull within two, 14-12, with a three-point run of its own.
• That would be as close as NU would get in the set as Canisius went on to win the set, 25-16.

• Niagara drops to 39-42 all-time against the Golden Griffins.
