Purple Eagles Defeated By Bulls, 7-1

TAMPA, Fla. – The Niagara baseball team (2-17) was defeated by USF (16-7), 7-1, on Saturday.

Game Recap
  • A two-run homerun gave the Bulls a 2-0 lead over the Purple Eagles in the bottom of the first inning.
  • USF added four runs in the bottom of the fourth frame to extend its lead over NU, 6-0.
  • In the top of the sixth inning, Nick Castellana scored on a wild pitch to leave Niagara trailing by five, 6-1.
  • The Bulls added one more run in the bottom of the sixth to get back ahead by six, 7-1.
  • In the top of the seventh, Cole Tucker singled through the right side and advanced to second base on a wild pitch to get into scoring position, but NU was unable to capitalize.
  • Both teams went scoreless for the remainder of the game and USF took the second game in the series, 7-1.
