LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Niagara volleyball team fell to Siena in three-sets Saturday afternoon in MAAC volleyball action from the UHY Center in Loudonville.
Match Recap
First Set
• Siena took an early 7-3 lead over NU in the first set.
• That lead would grow 10 points after a 10-4 run by the Saints.
• Niagara would go on a four-point run to pull within seven, 18-11.
• After Siena went up 21-11, the Purple and White struck for three-straight to make it a 21-14 game.
• Siena would go on a 3-0 run of its own to get within one of taking the set.
• NU would take two points before Siena clinched the set with a 25-16 win.
Second Set
• Siena would once again jump out to a 7-3 lead in set two.
• Niagara would work its way back to tie the set at 16-16, using the heel of a 4-0 run to take its first lead of the set, 17-16.
• Siena would retake the lead but Niagara would respond to tie it at 18-18.
• From there the set would be tied at 20-20, before the Saints outscored the Purple Eagles 5-1 to take the set 25-21.
Third Set
• The third set would start with a 6-1 lead for Siena with Niagara scoring in-between three-point spurts for Siena.
• The lead would grow to 9-2 before NU broke up the run with its third point of the set.
• After Siena took a 10-3 lead, Niagara would score three-straight to pull within four, 10-6.
• Siena would double up NU, 12-6, before Niagara took three of five to make the score 14-9.
• The Siants advantage would grow to 16-9 before Niagara reach double-digits.
• With Siena up 19-10, the Purple Eagles would rally for four-straight to come within five, 19-14.
• Siena would take six of the final 10 points to secure the 25-18 set win and 3-0 match victory over NU.
Niagara Notes
• Niagara falls to 4-5 in MAAC play.

Lexi Bapst led NU with six kills, while
Allie Simpson posted a team-best hitting percentage of .200 with four kills on 10 attempts.

Casey Brown and
Kylie Blessing led Niagara with 11 assists apiece.
•
Bella Peroni collected a team-best 12 digs, followed by 10 from Bapst.
