NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Purple Eagles (4-6, 1-0 MAAC) defeated Marist (5-7, 0-1 MAAC) in straight sets on Saturday.

Match Recap
First Set

• Niagara went on a 3-0 run, including two kills from Laryssa Imbuzeiro, to open the set.
• Jaycie Roberts and Mary Redl each had two kills to keep Niagara ahead of the Red Foxes, 7-4.
• Up by two, 7-5, Niagara scored three straight points, including kills from Roberts and Jenna Vogen, to extend its lead, 10-5.
• The Purple Eagles led Marist, 13-9, but the Red Foxes went on a 7-0 run to get ahead of Niagara, 16-13.
• Down by three, 18-15, the Purple Eagles went on a 4-0 run, including two more kills from Roberts, to put NU back ahead, 19-18.
• The Red Foxes got ahead by one, 21-20, but Niagara went on a 5-0 run, including three service aces from Casey Brown, to close out the set and earn a 25-18 set one win.

Second Set

• The Purple Eagles and the Red Foxes were tied four times early in the set, but kills from Vogen and Cassie Seminoff and a block from Imbuzeiro and Redl put NU ahead, 12-9.
• A kill from Roberts put Niagara up by four, 15-11, but the Red Foxes went on a 4-0 run to tie the score, 15-15.
• The Purple Eagles answered with three straight points, including two more kills from Roberts, to reclaim the lead, 18-15.
• Up by two, 18-16, two kills from Seminoff and a service error from the Red Foxes extended Niagara's lead, 21-16.
• A kill from Imbuzeiro iced Niagara's 25-21 set two victory.

Third Set

• The Purple Eagles and the Red Foxes went back and forth in the third set and were quickly tied up, 12-12. Back-to-back kills from Taylor Allen put Niagara in the lead, 14-12.
• Ahead by one point, 16-15, two kills from Imbuzeiro and one from Roberts extended Niagara's lead, 19-15.
• Kills from Roberts and Allen put Niagara ahead by five points, 21-16, but the Red Foxes went on a 5-0 run to tie things up, 21-21.
• The Purple Eagles scored three point, including a kill from Roberts, an ace from Jessica Streuer and a block from Allen and Redl, to reclaim the lead, 24-21.
• The Red Foxes came back within one point of NU, 24-23, but an attack error on Marist earned the straight-set win for the Purple Eagles.

Eagle's Eye On

• Roberts recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 15 digs and a team-high 19 kills.
• Streuer also recorded a double-double with 12 digs and a team-best 17 assists.
• Amanda Darling had a team-high 28 digs.
• Brown recorded a career-high four aces and also added 16 assists.
• Imbuzeiro had a career-high eight kills.
• Imbuzeiro and Redl led the team in blocking with four total blocks each.
