NU Defeats Alfred State On Senior Day

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned victories over Alfred State on Saturday. The men defeated the Pioneers, 169-71, and the women picked up a 186-17 win. Prior to the start of the meet, the Purple Eagles honored graduating seniors Isabella DeSimone, Delaney Labue, Yvonne Schere, Nicholas Stoll, Emma Weber and student manager Ally Moore.

Meet Notes
  • Moana Houde-Camirand broke the program record in the 100 IM with a time of 59.26. She placed first in the 100 back with a time of 59.27.
  • The relay team of DeSimone, Labue, Weber and Schere won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:52.42.
  • The relay team of Josiah Shaffer, Tanner Isaacs, Dalton Stier and Rowan Markham took first place in the 200 medley relay, finishing the event in 1:38.88.
  • Zoe Gavin placed first in the 200 free with a time of 1:57.71. She also placed first in the 50 fly with a time of 26.77.
  • Graeme Staples won the 500 free with a time of 5:02.42.
  • Gio Germano finished first in the 100 back (54.19).
  • Amanda Silva's time of 1:09.08 in the 100 breast earned her a first place finish. She also placed first in the 50 breast with a time of 32.05.
  • Shaffer placed first in the 100 breast. He finished the event in 1:02.04. Shaffer also placed first in the 50 back with a time of 24.77.
  • Stier earned a first place finish in the 50 fly (25.06).
  • Schere finished first in the 50 free with a time of 24.90.
  • Kevin Vu won the 50 free, finishing in 20.87.
  • Sydney James placed first in the 100 free with a time of 58.42.
  • Markham won the 200 free (1:50.19).
  • Isaacs earned a first place finish in the 50 breast with a time of 27.67.
  • Sydney Sarkis placed first in the 1-meter dive with a score of 238.73 and Morgan Macmahon placed first in the 3-meter dive with a score of 215.18.
  • Marco Wilson won both the 1-meter dive (231.60) and the 3-meter dive (231.68).
