After a two-week pause, the Niagara women's basketball team is back in action with a two-game series at Rider. The Purple Eagles and the Broncs will Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer in their matchups this weekend.

Last Time Out
  • The Purple Eagles faced Marist in a two-game series Jan. 22 and 23. The Red Foxes swept the series, winning game one, 66-60, in overtime and winning the second game, 67-45.
  • Ally Haar led NU in scoring in game one with 16 points. Olivia Mason led the team in rebounding with nine boards. She also added 10 points and six steals.
  • Angel Parker had 11 points for the Purple Eagles in game one.
  • Sydney Faulcon led Niagara in scoring in game two with a career-high 14 points. Parker had a team-high six rebounds and also added 13 points.

  • The teams will lace up their shoes with gold laces during the game and four dollars from every five-dollar pair of laces (and 100 percent of all donations) will directly benefit children and families in the state the funds are raised.
 
Big 4 Player of the Week
  • Angel Parker was named Big 4 Player of the Week on Jan. 5 following her performance against Iona on Jan. 1 and 2.
  • Parker helped propel the Purple Eagles to an 81-63 victory over the Gaels on Jan. 2. She was one assists shy of a triple-double as she recorded a career-high 26 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists. It was the first double-double of Parker's career. She also tied her career-high in steals with five.
  • Against the Gaels on Jan. 1, Parker had nine points, four rebounds and two steals and dished out a team-high five assists.
  • On the week, Parker averaged a career-best 17.5 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game.
 
MAAC Leaders
  • Niagara leads the conference in free throw percentage (.736) and steals (11.75 per game).
  • Olivia Mason is averaging a MAAC-best 4.8 steals per game and Ally Haar leads the conference with a perfect free throw percentage.
 
On the Court
Rider Broncs
  • Guard Makayla Firebaugh leads the Broncs in scoring, averaging 10.7 points per game.
  • Forward Raphaela Toussaint is averaging a team-high 5.9 rebounds per game.
  • Center Victoria Toomey leads the team in blocks with 34 on the season so far.
  • The Broncs are averaging 52.3 points per game, with a .351 field goal percentage.
  • Rider averages 35.3 reounds per game, 10.5 assists per game, 6.5 steals per game and 4.5 blocks per game.

  • The Purple Eagles host the Manhattan Jaspers for a two-game series Friday, Feb. 19 and Saturday, Feb. 20. Friday's game will tip-off at 4:00 p.m. and Saturday's game will start at 5:00 p.m.
