Niagara University, N.Y. — Chasity Wilson scored 12 points and Talia Dial added 11 as Niagara closed strong in the fourth quarter, but the Purple Eagles fell to Mount St. Mary's 76-57 Thursday night at the Gallagher Center in Niagara University, N.Y.

Niagara matched Mount St. Mary's point-for-point in the final period, tying the Mountaineers 20-20 to finish on an uplifting note. Tyasia Freeman added 10 points, while Jade Campbell came off the bench to score 9 on 4-of-5 shooting.

The Purple Eagles showed early promise, jumping to a 7-2 lead behind a Dial 3-pointer and a Freeman layup. Jisca Bila drained a 3-pointer late in the second quarter, trimming the deficit to seven at 28-21, before Wilson hit a 3-pointer just before halftime to keep Niagara within nine at the break.

Niagara's finest stretch came in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter, when the Purple Eagles mounted a 9-2 run that forced a Mount St. Mary's timeout. Dial sparked the surge with a 3-pointer, then Campbell converted back-to-back layups, both assisted by Bila, before Kenedie Haruna capped the burst with a fast-break layup off a steal.

Wilson hit two 3-pointers and went a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line, while Dial was active on both ends with a steal and two rebounds. Jade Rutledge pulled down a team-high six rebounds.
