MAAC Tabs Nwandu Player of the Week

EDISON, N.J. – Kobi Nwandu has been named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.

Nwandu averaged 22.5 points per game, while shooting 52 percent, as the Purple Eagles split their two-game series with the Monmouth Hawks on January 29-30. In the first game, he led all scorers with 20 points on 6 of 12 shooting from the field and went 7-for-8 at the charity stripe.

In Niagara's win on January 30, Nwandu set a career-high in scoring with a game-high 25 points, for his third straight 20-point game. His 25 points are the most by a Purple Eagle this season. He scored 10 of his 25 points from the free-throw line which are a season-high by a Purple Eagle. He added three assists to share team-high honors while playing all 40 minutes.
