LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – The Purple Eagles (7-9, 4-3 MAAC) defeated the Siena Saints (3-16, 3-5 MAAC) in straight sets on Saturday.

Match Recap
First Set

• Back-to-back kills from Cassie Seminoff opened the set for the Purple Eagles.
• The Saints took a one-point lead over NU, 4-3, but the Purple Eagles scored five straight points, including an ace from Seminoff and kills from Jessica Streuer and Mary Redl, to take the lead, 8-4.
• Two kills from Taylor Allen and one each from Jaycie Roberts and Redl put Niagara ahead by five. 12-7.
• The Saints scored four points to come within one point of the Purple Eagles, 12-11.
• The Purple Eagles got back ahead, 15-12, but three points from Siena quickly tied things up, 15-15.
• The Purple Eagles and the Saints were tied three more times before NU began to pull away, going on a 6-0 run including three aces and a kill from Laryssa Imbuzeiro, a kill from Allen and a block by Allen and Streuer, to take a 23-17 lead.
• NU allowed the Saints one more point before kills from Roberts and Seminoff earned the Purple Eagles a 25-18 set one victory.

Second Set

• The Saints took an early 7-5 lead over NU in the second set, but kills from Redl and Amanda Darling tied the score, 7-7.
• Siena got back on top, 9-7, but a kill from Roberts and an error from the Saints tied things up once again, 9-9.
• Trailing by one, 12-11, the Purple Eagles scored five consecutive points, including two kills each from Seminoff and Redl and an ace from Roberts, to take a 16-12 lead.
• The Saints answered with a 5-0 run to take the lead, 17-16.
• The Purple Eagles and the Saints traded points and, tied 19-19, a service error from Siena and back-to-back kills from Roberts, put NU back in the lead, 22-19.
• The Saints scored two more points, but Niagara won the set, 25-21, to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

Third Set

• The Purple Eagles and the Saints traded points, but three kills and an ace from Redl put Niagara head, 8-3.
• Two kills each from Seminoff and Roberts kept Niagara in the lead, 12-7.
• The Saints came within two points of NU, 13-11, but another kill from Redl and an ace from Darling gave Niagara a four-point lead, 15-11.
• Ahead by five, 19-14, kills from Roberts and Allen and an ace from Imbuzeiro extended Niagara's lead, 22-14.
• The Purple Eagles allowed the Saints just three more points to win the set, 25-17, and the match, 3-0.

Eagle's Eye On

• Roberts recorded her 10^th double-double of the season with 11 kills and a team-high 14 digs.
• Redl had a team-high 16 kills.
• Seminoff also recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs.
• Streuer led Niagara in assists with 31.
• Imbuzeiro recorded a career-high, and team-best, four aces.
