NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – The Purple Eagles men and women's swimming and diving programs head to Binghamton, NY for their first meet of the season on Saturday, Oct. 9.
The men will take on Binghamton, while the women will square off with both the Bearcats and MAAC foe, Siena.
Men's Notes
• The Niagara men were selected seventh in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll that was released by the conference office earlier this week.
• The Purple Eagles have a total of 12 newcomers to the program this year, along with 15 returners from last season.
• Among the returners for the Purple and White are senior
Dalton Stier, juniors
Kevin Vu,
Tyler Prosser and
Noah Brooks.
• During the 2020-21 campaign Niagara went 2-2 in its dual meets, defeating Bonaventure (139-136) and Alfred (169-71).
Women's Notes
• The women were also selected to finish seventh in the MAAC this season.
• The Purple Eagles welcome 11 newcomers to their roster for the 2021-22 season, while welcoming back 15 student-athletes from a year ago.
• Niagara has a total of seven seniors and two graduate students. The seniors include
Jenna Wagoner,
Sydney Sarkis,
Avery Sanquist,
Caroline Ramos,
Lauren Hume,
Moana Houde-Camirand and
Zoe Gavin. The two graduate-students are
Yvonne Schere and
Delaney Labue.
• A year ago, the Purple Eagles also finished 2-2, with wins over Bonaventure (132-97) and Alfred State (186-17).
