BUFFALO, NY – The Purple Eagles scored three unanswered goals to earn a 3-2 come-from-behind win over Battle of the Bridge Rival Canisius Wednesday night in MAAC women's soccer action in Buffalo, NY.
Niagara improves to 12-2 overall and 6-2 in MAAC play.

Djeynaba Thiam found the back of the net in the 59th minute of action after receiving a long pass from MacKenzie Mix, cutting the Golden Griffin lead in half, 2-1.
• Thiam scored the equalizer for the Purple Eagles in the 63rd minute.
Maia MacLean got the play started with a cross that found
Florence Vaillancourt, who then quickly found Thiam for the goal.

Emma Bough would beat the Canisius keeper for the game-winner in the 77th minute after collecting a cross from MacLean at the penalty spot and scoring.
• Both Golden Griffins goals were scored in the first half by Tiani Fonoti.
Niagara Notes
• The Purple Eagles improved to 5-2 in one goal games this season.
• The Purple and White have now won 12 matches, the most since 2008 when Niagara won a dozen of its 19 games played.
• Niagara took a total of 22 shots, 12 of which were on target, while holding the Griffs to just two shots on net.
• Thiam scored her seventh and eighth goals of the season and is now second on the team and third in the MAAC in the category.
• Vaillancourt has now registered at least one point in 11 of 14 games with her one assist tonight. The junior now has a league-best 32 points with 11 goals and 10 helpers.
• MacLean finished the night with two assists and now has six on the season to go with her seven goals.

Felicia Grufman made her 10th start of the season and is now 8-2-0 overall.
