NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – The Purple Eagles, backed by goals from
Florence Vaillancourt and
Emma Davies defeated Rider (5-7-2, 3-4-1) by a final score of 2-0 on Senior Day at Niagara Field Saturday afternoon. Niagara improves to 11-3 overall and 5-2 in conference play.

• Vaillancourt found the back of the net in the 2nd-minute of action after
Emma Davies and
Djeynaba Thiam worked the ball downfield to find the striker on the right side for the goal.
• The game would remain tied at the 45-minute mark as Niagara controlled possession throughout the first half.
• In the 53rd-minute, Davies found the back of the net following a sequence of multiple shots on net by the Purple Eagles.
• Niagara would nearly take a three-goal lead in the 63rd-minute when Taylor ReQua sent a shot toward the top right corner of the net but the Rider keeper was able to tap the ball out of the net.

Felicia Grufman recorded her second-straight clean sheet, making three saves in the win.
• The Purple Eagles registered 20 shots, nine of which were on net. Niagara finished the game with a season-high nine corners.
• Vaillancourt improved her season goal totals to 11 and assists to nine, for a total of 31 points.
• Davies scored her third goal and was awarded with her sixth assist.
• Thiam is now third tied for third on the team with six assists after finding Vaillancourt on Niagara's first goal.
