NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Purple Eagles fell to the Quinnipiac Bobcats, 82-76, on Thursday in their final home game of the season.

Game Recap
First Quarter
  • In the first quarter, the score was tied four times as the Purple Eagles and the Bobcats kept things close.
  • The Bobcats were ahead, 8-6, but Morgan Baughman sank a triple to give Niagara a 9-6 lead with a little over six minutes to go.
  • Quinnipiac once again got ahead by two, 13-11, but a three from Maggie McIntyre put Niagara back on top, 14-13.
  • Another trey from Baughman and a bucket from Valentina Pepic gave the Purple Eagles a 21-18 lead but the Bobcats quickly tied things up, 21-21, with 2:14 to go in the quarter.
  • The Purple Eagles trailed Quinnipiac by just two points, 27-25, going into the second quarter.
Second Quarter
  • Jordan Edwards put the Purple Eagles back on top, 28-27, with a 3-poitnter early in the second quarter. Edwards added two more points to put Niagara up by three, 30-27, with about six and a half minutes left in the half.
  • Niagara maintained the lead for most of the quarter but two straight 3-pointers from the Bobcats put them ahead, 40-36, with 1:17 to go.
  • A triple from Jai Moore and two free throws from Dagny Davidsdottir reclaimed the lead for NU, 41-40, but the Purple Eagles and the Bobcats were tied, 42-42, at the half.
Third Quarter
  • The Bobcats opened the third quarter on a 6-0 run to take a 48-42 lead over the Purple Eagles.
  • With a little under six minutes in the quarter, the Bobcats led, 50-44, but three points from Angel Parker cut the lead to three points, 50-47.
  • With under four minutes to go, the Bobcats led the Purple Eagles, 58-49, but a jumper from Davidsdottir cut the Quinnipiac lead to seven, 58-51.
  • Another 3-pointer from Baughman and another bucket from Davidsdottir left Niagara trailing by only six points, 62-56, going into the final 10 minutes of play.
Fourth Quarter
  • With a little over seven minutes to go in the fourth, a three from McIntyre put Niagara down by just nine points, 68-59.
  • Five straight points from Moore kept Niagara within nine points of the Bobcats, 73-64, with five minutes to play.
  • McIntyre sank two more threes and Moore added three free throws to put the Purple Eagles within striking distance of Quinnipiac, 77-73.
  • With 40 seconds to go, Davidsdottir made two foul shots to keep NU within five points of the Bobcats, 81-76, but Quinnipiac came away with the win, 82-76.

Eagle's Eye On…
  • Moore led the Purple Eagles in scoring with 17 points and in assists with four.
  • Adia Brisker had a team-high seven rebounds.
  • McIntyre added 12 points and Parker had 11 points.
  • Baughman and Parker each had a team-best two steals.
