NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Purple Eagles fell to the Manhattan Jaspers, 75-61, on Saturday.

Game Recap
First Quarter
  • The Jaspers took the lead early, but a 3-point play from Emerald Ekpiteta put the Purple Eagles ahead, 5-4, with a little under eight minutes remaining in the first quarter.
  • A 3-pointer from Claire Wanzer extended Niagara's lead, 8-4. Jai Moore soon followed with a triple of her own to give Niagara a five-point lead, 11-6.
  • Four points from Angel Parker left Niagara ahead, 15-11, but the Jaspers tied the score, 15-15, and led the Purple Eagles, 21-16, at the end of the first quarter.
Second Quarter
  • The Jaspers went on an 11-0 run early in the second quarter, taking a 34-18 lead over the Purple Eagles.
  • Triples from Maggie McIntyre and Moore and a bucket from Adia Brisker in the remainder of the quarter left Niagara trailing by 13, 39-26, at halftime.
Third Quarter
  • Six points from Morgan Baughman put the Purple Eagles back within single digits of Manhattan's lead, 44-35, with over five minutes remaining in the third quarter.
  • Brisker added three more points in the third quarter but the Jaspers remained in the lead, 52-40.
Fourth Quarter
  • Manhattan led, 64-43, but a bucket from Ekpiteta and a triple from Brisker cut the Jasper lead, 64-48.
  • Baughman hit another three late in the third quarter, but it was not enough to overcome Manhattan's lead as NU fell to the Jaspers, 75-61.

Eagle's Eye On…
  • Moore led the Purple Eagles in scoring with 17 points. She also had a team-high four assists.
  • Baughman brought down a team-high six rebounds. She also added nine points.
  • Ekpiteta added 10 points and Brisker had five rebounds.
  • Moore and Brisker each had a team-best three steals.
