POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Purple Eagles were defeated by Marist, 82-57, on Saturday.

Game Recap
First Quarter

• With Niagara trailing by just two points early, Emerald Ekpiteta sank the first 3-poimter of her career to put the Purple Eagles on top, 5-4.
• A triple from Maggie McIntyre and two free throws from Ekpiteta gave Niagara a four-point lead, 10-6, with a little over five minutes to go in the quarter.
• Marist went on a 7-0 run to reclaim the lead, 13-10, but four points from Adia Brisker and a 3-pointer from Jai Moore gave the Purple Eagles the 17-13 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

Second Quarter

• The Red Foxes tied the score, 17-17, with a little over nine minutes to go in the first half, but a steal and a bucket from Angel Parker put Niagara back ahead by two, 19-17.
• Moore sank two more threes and Jordan Edwards added two points to keep Niagara in the lead, 27-22, but Marist went on a 13-0 run and led the Purple Eagles, 33-27, with over two minutes to play.
• NU answered with a run of its own, scoring eight straight points, including two more triples from Moore, to tie the score 35-35. The Red Foxes had a narrow lead, 38-35, going into halftime.

Third Quarter

• Edwards scored two points with a little over seven minutes to go in the third quarter to put Niagara down by just six points, 43-37, but the Red Foxes went on an 11-0 run to extend their lead, 54-37.
• Moore added two points and Ekpiteta had three in the remainder of the quarter and the Purple Eagles trailed Marist, 65-42, going into the final 10 minutes of play.

Fourth Quarter

• McIntyre opened scoring for the Purple Eagles in the fourth quarter, hitting another 3-pointer. The Red Foxes remained in the lead, 68-45.
• Trailing Marist, 74-47, the Purple Eagles went on a 7-0 run to cut the Red Foxes' lead, 74-54. Marist, however, remained in control the rest of the quarter and came away with the 82-57 victory.

Eagle's Eye On…

• Moore led the Purple Eagles in scoring with 23 points. She went a perfect 5-for-5 from the 3-point line in the first half and 5-for-7 overall.
• Ekpiteta added 10 points for NU. She had five rebounds.
• Dagny Davidsdottir led the team in rebounding with six rebounds. She also had a team-high two blocks.
• Edwards had a team-high three assists.
• McIntyre added six points and five rebounds.

• Niagara returns to the Gallagher Center next week, hosting Fairfield on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 7:00 p.m. and Iona on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 1:00 p.m. Both games will air on ESPN3.
