NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Niagara's win streak was snapped at three games as the Purple Eagles fell to the Broncs, 71-55, on Saturday.

Game Recap
First Quarter
  • The Broncs took a 7-1 lead over the Purple Eagles early in the fourth quarter, but Niagara went on a 6-0 run to tie the score, 7-7, with a little under four minutes to go.
  • Rider outscored the Purple Eagles 10-2 in the remainder of the quarter and Niagara trailed the Broncs, 17-9, going into the second quarter.
Second Quarter
  • Four points from Maggie McIntyre, two from Emerald Ekpiteta and two from Jai Moore left Niagara trailing by just two points, 19-17, with a little under seven minutes to go in the half.
  • The Broncs went on a 7-0 run to extend their lead, 26-17, but a 3-pointer from Morgan Baughman put NU down by just six points, 26-20, with about four and a half minutes to go.
  • The Broncs held Niagara scoreless for the remainder of the quarter and the Purple Eagles trailed Rider, 32-20, at the half.
Third Quarter
  • Adia Brisker added four points in the third quarter and Baughman hit another triple, but the Broncs held Niagara to just 11 third quarter points and led the Purple Eagles, 54-31, going into the final 10 minutes of play.
Fourth Quarter
  • Moore sank a 3-pointer to open scoring in the fourth quarter, followed by two free throws from Dagny Davidsdottir to cut the deficit to 18 points, 54-36.
  • Baughman hit her third trey of the game with a little over six minutes to go, but the Broncs remained in the lead, 58-39.
  • Niagara went on an 8-0 run in the final minute of the game, but it was not enough to overcome Rider as the Purple Eagles fell to the Broncs, 71-55.

Eagle's Eye On…
  • Moore led the Purple Eagles in scoring with 14 points.
  • Davidsdottir had a team-high seven rebounds.
  • Baughman and Ekpiteta each added nine points.
  • Ekpiteta and Angel Parker led the team in steals with four each.
