AMHERST, N.Y. – In the first meeting since 2015, the Niagara Purple Eagles were edged by the Buffalo Bulls, 1-0, in the latest Big 4 derby on Sunday.
SYNOPSIS
One goal was the difference in a matchup with little separating the two teams. A two-minute spell in the second half featured two key scoring chances for the Bulls. The first one was denied by an acrobatic save by
Sabrina Locas; however, UB's Marcy Barberic notched the game-winner a minute later. The Purple Eagles created a few chances in the final 10 minutes, with
Annie Ibey providing the best chance when her shot from 22-yards out forced a finger-tip save by the UB keeper in the 89
th minute.
