OLEAN, N.Y. – In their final non-conference game of the season on Wednesday, the Purple Eagles fell to St. Bonaventure, 9-5.

Game Recap

• Niagara took an early lead over the Bonnies in the top of the third inning. With bases loaded, Peter Battaglia was walked, sending Darian Blanks in for a run. Dawson Bailey then stole home plate to give Niagara a 2-0 lead.
• In the top of the fourth, an RBI single from Blanks extended NU's lead over St. Bonaventure, 3-0. The Bonnies, however, scored four times in the bottom of the inning to take their first lead of the game, 4-3.
• St. Bonaventure extended its lead, 9-3, over the next two innings, scoring four runs in the fifth and one in the sixth.
• An RBI single from Josh Marchese and a sacrifice fly from Cole O'Connor in the eighth frame put Niagara down by just four, 9-5, but NU was not able to overcome the Bonnies' lead.

• Bailey, Battaglia, Marchese, O'Connor and Blanks each had one hit.
• Battaglia, Marchese, Blanks and O'Connor each recorded one RBI.
• Bailey and Alex Zulia recorded one stolen base each.
• Tommy Bednarski (1-6) took the loss on the mound. He fanned two and was responsible for eight earned runs in 1.0 inning pitched.
