BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Purple Eagles fell to Big 4 rival Buffalo, 92-72, on Saturday.

Game Summary
The Purple Eagles came out strong to open the game and held the lead for the majority of the first 10 minutes of the first half. The score was tied just three times.

Raheem Solomon sank a triple to open scoring in the game and five points from Marcus Hammond and a bucket from Nicholas Kratholm put Niagara ahead of the Bulls, 10-15, with a little under 17 minutes to go in the half. Two more points from Solomon and four points from Greg Kuakumensah kept Niagara ahead, 16-13.

With Niagara leading. 18-15, the Bulls went on a 19-0 run to take their first lead of the game, 34-18. The Purple Eagles answered with a 6-0 run to cut the UB lead to 10 points, 34-24, but the Bulls answered with a 6-0 run of their own to get ahead, 40-24.

A 3-pointer from Nick MacDonald with a little over one a half minutes to go closed out scoring for the Purple Eagles in the first half and NU went into halftime trailing Buffalo, 47-29.

Buffalo went on a 5-0 run to open the second half, but five straight points from Solomon cut the Bulls' lead to 18, 52-34, with over 17 minutes left to play.

Kuakumensah and James Towns began to heat up in the second half, scoring a combined 20 points between 15:48 and 8:54 to leave the Purple Eagles trailing the Bulls by just 13, 67-54.

A bucket from Justin Roberts and two free throws from Towns left Niagara trailing UB, 76-58, before the Bulls went on a 6-0 run to extend their lead, 82-58.

With a little under three and a half minutes to go, Solomon sank his season-high third 3-pointer of the game, but the Bulls maintained a comfortable lead, 87-63. Brown, Towns and MacDonald combined for nine more points in the game but it was not enough to overcome the Bulls, as Niagara fell to UB, 92-72.
